Too Tired

A poem by my imaginary friend, Masaki.

Too Tired

I am too tired
To walk anymore
In this long walk of life.
My limbs are sore,
My heart is throbbing,
An unceasing pain haunts my head.
I have fallen again
But I don’t want to get up.
Fed up
I am with everything.
Let it be over.
Please let everything be over.
I am tired.
Too tired.
I want to quit, I want to end.
My smiles have departed already,
My peace has gone.
My foot is dead.
The only thing alive
Is my poor little head
Crying for sleep.
A deep, deep sleep.
Maybe it’s too early,
Maybe the years are left.
But I am tired, too tired,
All I want is my last bed.

  1. That’s deep, and sweet, and far too glum. But I like it. And people might say that the young don’t feel. But that’s not true. They’re still raw to the world; they feel everything far more acutely than do those of more experience and years.

    1. I think you are very true. Maybe the young feel it harder. I am feeling the pain deep, deep down and sometimes I really feel if I could just end everything. Maybe that’s impossible. But maybe my pen can give me a bit of peace.

      1. If it inspires you, if can’t be all wrong. Feelings are more intense when you’re young. You haven’t learned to be cynical, nor how to coat yourself in an tough husk. That comes with time. Some people get so good at it, they lose all feeling. Don’t let that happen to you.

      1. I see. That’s quite sad, but I’m glad we got to hear from him. But I have faith that at least your story will end better! Pain is good to feel sometimes, so that you can get through it. Much love.

    1. Thank you so much!
Maybe I am bit mature than my age, like I said to you, once before. I often feel overwhelming reactions, quick mood change but luckily hidden behind a calm mask.
      Thank you so much!
